Why Choose Us?

Here's what some of our parents have to say...

We have four kids at St.C’s. In addition to the kids receiving a top-notch and personalized education, we are part of the most amazing and inclusive community. In a big city, it’s rare to find a “village” of caring people. St.C’s is that village for us - everyone knows each other and looks out for each other. In a time of great uncertainty, it’s the best feeling to know you can count on your school and community.

My child has been attending St. C. for a few years and we couldn't be happier. It's a small, sweet, gem of a school and has been a breath of fresh air after attending a local public school. We've been very pleased with the academics and the teachers/staff. What really makes St. C. shine, though, is the community. Parents are involved and organize many fun social events, and the children (pre-K through 8) know each other. I love that everyone is looking out for my kid and each other.

Best decision we have made is to send our kids to St. Catherine's in Maple Leaf.  Great teachers for all learning types coupled with a welcoming and inclusive environment.

This will be my daughter's 3rd year at St. Catherine's and we LOVE it!  The community is very welcoming, there are tons of social events and my daughter is learning a ton.  The teachers have been happy to provide her with some extra support when needed, and I always feel comfortable reaching out to the teachers and staff if I need anything.

I moved my son from public to private in 4th grade and couldn't be happier at St. Catherine's. He was instantly welcomed into the fold. I am a public school educator and constantly compare the systems and feel that St. Catherine surpasses the public system on most accounts.

My son just graduated 8th grade this year, he started at St. C's as a first grader.  He was accepted into all three High Schools he applied to. My other son will be in 5th grade this year. It has been the best decision we have made for our boys and our family.  The educational experience is fantastic, everyone gets one on one attention, no child ever "slips through the cracks". These teachers and the administration truly care about our kids and want them to succeed.  St. Catherine also teaches how to become responsible and caring members of a community, making them into well rounded individuals that we are proud of.

A wonderful neighborhood school with a welcoming community for those of all faiths.  I have had two children at this school and they have thrived.  The transition to HS was easy.  The teachers and admin staff truly care about every student and the community is supportive and fun!

FAQs

How do I enroll my child at St. Catherine School?

For grades 1-8, applications are accepted on a rolling basis based on class capacity. For Kindergarten and Preschool, current families and St. Catherine Parish members have priority registration until November 4th. Afterwards, all other applications will be processed. You will be notified of acceptance soon after, and invited to pre-register your child. Pre-registration holds your child's spot until registration opens in February. If you have additional questions about enrollment, or to schedule a tour, please contact our Development Director, Tammy Matusak.

What if our family isn't Catholic?

49% of St. Catherine School families aren't Catholic! We are an inclusive community, welcoming to all families and faith backgrounds.

How do you assess your students?

St. Catherine students in grades 2-8 participate in the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment in the fall and spring of every year. This is an Archdiocesan wide assessment that measures students' skills and growth in reading, language, and math. MAP is a computer adaptive test, which means every student gets a unique set of test questions based on responses to previous questions. The test is not timed and it adjusts the complexity and level of questions based on the students' particular skill level. Teachers analyze the reporting data to identify students' areas of strengths and challenges in order to inform and plan relevant classroom instruction. The links below provide additional information on the MAP Assessment.  â€‹
